Welcome. I am Tom Harabin, musician, singer and a lover of history. I am also the resident musician at the Abraham Staats House. Following that calling, I have gathered a collection of music from the colonial, revolutionary war, and civil war periods as well as a number of instruments on which I am self-taught: Violins, Mountain Dulcimer, Hammered Dulcimer, Mandolin, Fife, Bowed Psaltery, Guitar, and Lute Guitar. In my programs under the name of “Music of Times Past”, I am presenting the music, its history, and the instruments from those periods. (At this time there are programs on other periods that are in the planning stage.)
If you would like to have me present one of the programs for your organization, please call or email me. You will find my contact information on this website.
